Welcome to the
Brainerd Green Team
homepage!
Have you had a garage or estate sale, but have leftovers that didn't sell? Cleaning out a storage unit? Moving? Inherit unwanted belongings? Cleaning out your closets? Just have too much stuff? Not sure what to do with it? Don't want to throw it away? We can help!
What we do
We take donations of items (see below). We go through every item piece by piece. Some of it is donated to local charities, some is re-purposed, some is re-sold elsewhere, some is recycled. We try very hard not to throw things away unless they're moldy and/or cannot be sanitized or re-purposed. This keeps your old items out of the landfill, helps those in need locally, and keeps stuff useful as long as possible!
What do we accept? What won't we accept?
We'll happily take most garage and estate sale left-overs, even entire estates if you're cleaning out your cabin or moving. Clothing, collectibles, antiques, kitchenware, household items, knick knacks, blankets, pet supplies, Christmas or other holiday decorations, craft supplies, sporting equipment, kid and baby stuff, toys, tools, even some furniture! That said, there are a few items that we don't accept. We will not accept any of the following:
Adult items, including used underwear
Garbage/Trash, including mattresses or trashed furniture
Food
Live animals
Hazardous materials, including medications, needles (used or not), paint, or sanitary/personal hygeine items
Stolen items
Anything illegal

How it works
Give us a general idea of what you have and schedule a day and time. You can box up and drop off in Brainerd, free of charge! If you don't have time, or just don't want to, we can send someone out to pick up items. Pick up within Brainerd is free of charge. We do ask for a donation if you need to have someone box up and haul away your unwanted items and you are outside of Brainerd. This helps to pay for gas and time, and also goes toward the cost of sanitizing, repairing and hauling items to local charities too. Please remember that locations farther away (Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Little Falls, etc.) cost us more in gas. Large loads requiring a trailer may not be able to be picked up or dropped off immediately (we need advanced warning), and will cost $40 if you need pick up as we have to borrow the trailer. Furniture and large or heavy items must be dropped off.
Want to add your charity to our donations list?
We are always looking for more charities in the Brainerd area that we can donate to. Let us know which charity you represent, what types of items your charity would like donated, and whom your charity benefits.
